Apple Wallet pass development
Orxon builds Apple Wallet passes and the iPhone apps and servers that create them. We made ID to Wallet, our own free app that turns an ID card, driving licence, passport or residence permit into an Apple Wallet pass, so we know PassKit from scanning to signing.
What we build
- Custom Apple Wallet passes: membership cards, tickets, coupons, IDs and store cards.
- iPhone apps that scan a document or card and add it to Wallet.
- The server side that signs passes and pushes updates to passes already in Wallet.
How it works
- We agree the pass design and what data it holds.
- We set up the Pass Type ID and signing, then build the app or service.
- We test on real iPhones and ship to the App Store.
Questions
Do I need an Apple Developer account to issue passes?
Yes. Passes are signed with a Pass Type ID certificate from an Apple Developer account. We help you set it up.
Can passes update after they're added to Wallet?
Yes. A pass can register with your server, which pushes changes such as a new balance, time or status.
Do Wallet passes work on Android?
Apple Wallet is iPhone only. Android uses Google Wallet, which has its own pass format, so plan both from the start if you need both.
